Matthew Nickell, M.D.

Dr. Nickell, a board-certified comprehensive Ophthalmologist, is excited to continue his career by serving patients in North Texas. He is committed to delivering top-notch eye care while optimizing  the patient experience. Above all, he wants his patients to know that he cares!

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Christian Ophthalmology Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

A native of Aledo, Dr. Nickell graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. While completing his undergraduate degree he served as captain
of the soccer team, earning 1st Team All-Conference, NCAA All-Region, and Conference Defensive Player of the Year distinctions. After graduating from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in
Temple, Texas, serving as Chief Resident.

Dr. Nickell married his high school sweetheart and has 4 beautiful children. He is active in his church and is passionate about missions, from local to international. He has served in Houston, Temple, Mexico, El Salvador, and Cambodia, among other places. He enjoys spending time with
his family, coaching youth sports, soccer, running, board games, and many outdoor activities.
